Sparks AWANA Club is designed around children ages kindergarden through second grade. These little people are like little sponges that absorb any and all information given to them. So our goal is "to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him" [from the AWANA Flag Pledge].
We do this through Bible time and Handbook time. We also throw game time in to help them learn to get along with others in a Christ-like manner...and also just for fun!
In Bible time, the children learn basic Bible stories about people who lived through various circumstances and learned from them. One example is when David faced a giant foe named Goliath. The application is that God is bigger than any problem we face. We use flannel graph, puppets, colored pictures, PowerPoints, and even acting to enhance the learning process!
In Handbook time we help the clubbers to learn, remember and understand verses from God's word. Each handbook is designed with a certain child's age group in mind.
