Frequently Asked Questions
Who Are We and What Are Our Events
Like?
We're
a group of men and women who believe that there is strong evidence that
the right answers to our toughest questions can be found in God's Word,
the Bible. We gather to study its ancient teachings and to help
each other apply them to our everyday lives and problems. We
cherish a personal relationship with its Author as followers of the
Lord Jesus Christ—His disciples!
What is being a part of GCC like?
GCC is a
family-like community of Christians who worship together, pray
together, study the Bible together, laugh together, and help each other
with life's struggles.
What is GCC's pastor like?
Our pastor
holds a four-year master's degree in theology from Dallas Theological
Seminary in Texas. His sermons both teach the Bible and show how
it touches our lives. He deeply cares about each person's needs
and desires to be everybody's friend!
What does GCC believe?
We're
evangelicals, emphasizing everybody's core need for a personal
relationship with God through Jesus Christ—the God/man—and emphasizing
the full authority of the Bible to direct us on life's journey.
What are Sunday morning meetings like?
You'll find
heartfelt worship, not empty ritual. There's meaningful,
worshipful music and relevant, Bible-centered teaching and
preaching. The setting is casual. Feel free to come as you
are! Come early and enjoy some coffee! The folks are
friendly, and all ages, races, and backgrounds are welcome!
What else does GCC offer to kids and adults?
Nursery
GCC offers
nurseries for all its Sunday services. These nurseries are well
staffed by people who are committed to a safe environment for all
children.
Awana
The Awana
program is a Christ-centered ministry that seeks to motivate children
to memorize the Scriptures. The program is intended for children
from two years pre-Kindergarten through the sixth grade. It meets
on Wednesday evenings from mid-September through April.
Junior Church
GCC conducts a
Junior Church from September through May during the Sunday Morning Worship Service for children
ages 4 through the first grade. This ministry is geared to
instruct children in the areas of worship, fellowship, prayer, and
God's Word.
Youth Group
Each Sunday
evening our Junior and Senior High School students meet with qualified,
caring adult leaders to learn how to think biblically and to apply the
principles of God's Word to their lives. Supervised, fun social
activities are also offered regularly—all to assist the young people in
their growth to Christian maturity.
Sunday School
GCC is
committed to providing instruction in God's Word to God's people.
We have a fine Sunday School program with classes for all age groups,
taught by well-qualified teachers.
Adult Fellowships
Our
adults in general and our ladies in particular hold a variety of
fellowship events that build friendships and reach out to other adults
in the community.
Choir
Committed
leaders work with faithful choir members who exalt the name of our Lord
Jesus and encourage the congregation in music. Special musical
presentations are held throughout the church year.
Specialized Studies & Discussions
All
ages are also invited to join in specialized study
experiences. These studies focus on in-depth treatment of a wide
viariety of topics that are relevant to the challenges of modern living
for the serious Christian.
